Two people were injured and the driver was cited in a single-vehicle traffic accident early Thursday just west of downtown Omaha.
Authorities said Tiffany Deemer, 28, was taken in critical condition and Kenneth Deemer, 30, was taken in serious condition to Creighton University Medical Center.
The accident occurred about 1:20 a.m. at 24th and Davenport Streets.
Police said a 2001 Chevy Cavalier driven by Tiffany Deemer was southbound on 24th Street when it left its lane and struck the curb at the intersection with Davenport Street. The Chevy then traveled onto a sidewalk where it struck a tree, causing the Cavalier to overturn. The Chevy came to rest in the middle of the southbound lanes of 24th Street.
Tiffany Deemer was treated for serious nonlife-threatening injuries to her face. Police said she was cited for driving under the influence, driving under suspension and reckless driving.
Kenneth Deemer was treated for minor injuries to his chest.
Police said they didn't know if seat belts were used by the Deemers.
