Husker fans and marathoners are in luck this weekend.
Becky Kern, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's office in Valley, Neb., said the weekend will bring sunny skies to Omaha and Lincoln, with highs in the upper-70s or low-80s Saturday and Sunday.
Kern said there's no chance for precipitation until Monday afternoon; she forecast about a 20 percent chance of rain then in the Omaha and Lincoln areas.
Temperatures will cool into the lower-50s early Sunday morning but again climb near 80, Kern said. Runners in the Omaha Marathon may encounter winds -- up to 10 mph from our south by the 7 a.m. start time, then near 25 mph by noon.
The National Weather Service forecasts highs in the 80s throughout next week. After Monday, Omaha's next best chance for rain could be Friday, Kern said.
