National Gumbo Day is Oct. 12, and Shucks Fish House is celebrating with — what else? — gumbo.
The restaurants will serve special “gumbo flights,” where, for $6, diners can choose three of five gumbo flavors: Shucks' original gumbo, which features chicken; turducken gumbo; alligator gumbo; root vegetable gumbo; or crawfish gumbo.
The special runs Oct. 9-13, and the gumbo will also be available by the individual cup or bowl. For an additional $2, diners can add another gumbo flavor to their flight.
The special is at all three locations of Shuck's: downtown at 1911 Leavenworth St., 119th and Pacific Streets, and in the Shops at Legacy on the southwest corner of 168th and West Center Road.
