Maverick men fall to IUPUI on OT goal

INDIANAPOLIS — Lance Davis scored the game’s only goal 2:17 into overtime to give IUPUI a 1-0 win against the University of Nebraska at Omaha on Saturday night.

The Mavericks (2-7-1, 1-1 Summit League) tallied a school-record 24 shots, compared to 11 for the Jaguars. UNO also held a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Christian Garcia put a shot on goal for the Mavs 45 seconds before Davis converted on a cross from Ian Block for his second goal of the season. IUPUI (1-8-3, 1-0-1) ended the match on its lone shot in the extra period for its first win of the season.

Next up for UNO is a nonconference contest at Belmont at noon next Saturday.
