INDIANAPOLIS — The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s ended a tough road trip with a 25-13, 25-12, 25-17 loss to IUPUI on Saturday.
One day after the Mavericks (5-13, 0-3 Summit League) fell in four sets to 2012 NCAA qualifier IPFW, UNO hit .062 against last year’s regular-season Summit champs in its first road weekend of league play.
IPFW and IUPUI were co-Summit favorites in this year’s preseason poll.
Sophomore Kelley Wollak paced the Mavs with eight kills. Sophomore Megan Schmale, who entered the weekend leading the conference in blocks per set, finished with a team-best three blocks to go with six kills on .545 hitting.
The Jaguars (8-11, 2-2) hit .369, led by 11 kills from Moriah Fair and Kelly Wachtel.
UNO returns to action Friday, hosting North Dakota State at 7 p.m. at Sapp Fieldhouse.
