A second person has been arrested and accused of stealing a TV and a picture from a fundraiser held for the family of homicide victim Andrea Kruger, authorities say.
Kristin V. Hunt, 26, of Omaha was arrested and jailed Tuesday afternoon for being suspected of felony theft, said Chief Deputy Thomas Wheeler of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Hunt is being held without bond.
Her accomplice, Jeffrey A. Johnson, 50, of Omaha, was booked into jail Monday on the same charge.
The duo is accused of stealing a 50” plasma TV and a framed picture of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium on Sept. 27. They were identified selling the items at a pawnshop, Wheeler said.
Kruger, 33, was shot and killed Aug. 21 near 168th and Fort Streets. The proceeds from the Kruger family fundraiser will go to Andrea's husband, Michael-Ryan Kruger and the Krugers' children, Jadyn, Ava and Hartley
The TV and photo will be returned to the fundraiser organizer and sold at an Oct. 19 golf tournament that also will benefit the Kruger family.
