Sneak in a workout and do a good deed Saturday at the fourth annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Run.
“This is a crucial time to fill pantry shelves in Omaha as we head into the holiday season,” said volunteer Kay Weinstein who helps coordinate the event.
Lake Zorinsky, at 156th and F Streets, is hosting the 5K. Register for $10 online or donate at least 10 non-perishable food items.
Last year, the event drew 875 runners and enough canned goods and monetary donations to provide 44,000 food items to families in need.
Weinstein hopes for 1,000 runners this year. The run starts at 9 a.m.
