The new Menards home improvement store at 72nd and L Streets is hosting a grand opening celebration starting Saturday.
The eight-day celebration will include daily giveaways, appearances and product demonstrations.
On Saturday, chain saw-carving artist John Gage will make in-store wood carvings from simple logs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Monday, former Nebraska quarterback Eric Crouch will be available to sign autographs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Other autograph sessions will feature former Husker wide receiver Irving Fryar from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and former Husker quarterback Tommie Frazier from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Paul Menard's 2011 Indy Brickyard winning No. 27 car and Matt Crafton's No. 88 truck will also be at the store Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m. Additionally, Menard family member Larry Menard will be at the store from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 to share some Menards history.
