When you read that, did you think of Nebraska?
Tourism officials want a sharper slogan to describe and lure visitors to the Husker state. The Nebraska Tourism Commission has launched an image perception survey that not only will help produce a new state slogan (we've had the possibilities one since 2004), but also will build a broader brand campaign aimed at increasing the state's visitor count and tourism revenue.
The commission, working with Believable Brands and Bailey Lauerman, is asking key people and residents to go to its website before Oct. 31 to provide their feedback and opinions via the survey.
“It will help us to create a branding campaign that truly represents what Nebraska and Nebraskans are all about,” said Kathy McKillip, state tourism director.
Responses to the survey are to be kept confidential, and it is expected to take about 15 minutes.
And if you're wondering about past tourism slogans representing Nebraska, the most recent ones were: America's Frontier; Genuine Nebraska; Send a Postcard from Nebraska; and Come See What We're Up to Now.
In the 1980s: Celebrate Nebraska; My Choice, Nebraska; Nebraska ... Discover the Difference; Nebraska ... Delightfully Different.
Back to the '70s: Vacation Nebraska; and, Nebraska...The Good Life.
