Borsheims Fine Jewelry and Gifts will host two in-store events:
>> Glass artist Peggy Karr and artist Maureen Beat will be on hand from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday to sign the last plate in Borsheims’ Hometown Heritage series of plates, which include All Aboard (a Union Pacific plate) and Peony’s Past (featuring Peony Park).
The final plate in the series features a painting of the Old Market by Beat. Both Beat and Karr will sign plates and meet with shoppers. Beat painted the images for the five-plate series and Karr used the images to create the commemorative plates. The Old Market Origins, All Aboard and Peony’s Past plates are available for purchase. The remaining plates in the series, Grandstand’s Glory, honoring the Ak-Sar-Ben racetrack, and Remembering Rosenblatt, a tribute to the baseball stadium, are sold out.
>> Borsheims will host the Pandora Pink Tea and tea etiquette sessions from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 as a breast cancer awareness event. Everything will be pink, and a portion of the night’s sales will benefit Project Pink’d, an Omaha-based breast cancer charity that helps local cancer patients and their families.
Members of the nonprofit group will be on hand to discuss helping Omaha-area breast cancer survivors. There will be pink tea and cookies from Paradise Bakery.
The event will also include a drawing for a $50 Borsheims gift card. The tea will take place inside Borsheims in front of the Pandora shop. To attend the tea, register by emailing email@example.com or text “TEA” to 97063.
