A Belgian brewery has bought Boulevard Brewing Company, one of the U.S.'s largest craft breweries.
Duvel Moortgat Brewery on Thursday announced the deal to buy Boulevard, which is located in Kansas City, Mo. The deal's expected to close by the end of the year.
Duvel (pronounced DOO-vel) already has a stake in the American market. It owns Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, N.Y.
According to The New York Times, Boulevard is the 12th-largest craft brewery in the U.S., with distribution reaching 180,000 barrels this year.
This is the first major craft brewery sale since Anheuser-Busch InBev bought Goose Island for $38.8 million in 2011.
