A fast-moving storm is moving out of Nebraska and into parts of western Iowa, bringing with it reports of hail as large a quarter, according to the National Weather Service.
Communities at greatest risk lie south and east of Pottawattamie County. Council Bluffs likely won't see more than some rain, the weather service said.
The storm is expected to move out by about 9:45 a.m., but the sky could hold more severe weather throughout the day.
The weather service warned residents throughout the metro area to be alert to developing storms.
