A ninth person has been arrested as part of Operation Wipe it Down, an anti-gang sweep jointly operated by local and federal authorities.
Kenneth Reed, 25, turned himself into authorities early Thursday. He is charged in a federal indictment with trafficking crack cocaine and possessing a .40-caliber pistol while trafficking drugs.
The nearly 10-month investigation has targeted Omaha gang members and their associates.
In September, 18 men and women were arrested in what Police Chief Todd Schmaderer called the first phase of the operation. So far, nine people have been arrested as part of the second phase; three remain at large.
