Two Nebraska men were killed and four others were injured Saturday night in a head-on collision about a mile west of Fremont in Dodge County.
Dodge County Sheriff Steve Hespen said Sunday that the names of the deceased and injured were being withheld until their relatives could be notified. Three of the injured were taken to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha and the fourth was taken to the Fremont Area Medical Center, he said.
Investigators said the accident occurred about 11:15 p.m. when a 1995 Toyota 4Runner heading west on U.S. Highway 30 crossed the center line and collided with a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix. The driver of the Toyota and a back seat passenger in the Pontiac were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Toyota is registered in Hall County and the Pontiac is registered in Dodge County.
