COUNCIL BLUFFS — A man who police believe was armed was taken into custody Wednesday night after a two-hour standoff.
The man, identified as Lucas Walk, 31, had several outstanding felony warrants for stolen property, said Lt. Mark Galvan.
The standoff began about 3:45 p.m. at a house on Pierce Street near Frank Street.
Police said negotiators asked Walk to surrender. Officers, SWAT team members and a K-9 unit entered the home about 4:50 p.m.
Walk suffered a dog bite inside the house. He was taken to Mercy Hospital in stable condition.
Officers had evacuated nearby houses and brought in a mobile command center.
The police barricade of the neighborhood led to traffic delays from East Broadway to the 500 block of West Broadway as commuters headed home.
The incident ended about 5:45 p.m.
