The field to replace Southeast Community College's retiring president has been narrowed to four candidates.
The college's board of governors announced the finalists — three outside candidates and one internal candidate — on Tuesday after a national search.
Southeast's current president, Jack Huck, is retiring next June.
The finalists are:
» Hank Dunn, president of Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College in Asheville, N.C.
» Ivan Gorne, vice president for student services, facilities and operations at Bates Technical College in Tacoma, Wash.
» Dennis Headrick, vice president for instruction at Southeast
» Paul Illich, vice president for research, planning and information technology at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas
Each finalist will participate in an open public forum at each of SCC's three campuses during the week of Dec. 2, according to the college. The schedule will be released later this week.
