A Bellevue man accused of sexually assaulting a child in Iowa now faces similar charges in Nebraska.
John R. Schondelmeyer, 64, is charged in Sarpy County Court with two counts each of first-degree sexual assault of a child and incest. The charges are felonies.
Prosecutors allege that Schondelmeyer raped two children under age 12 in late September.
He has also been charged in Sarpy County with fleeing justice in connection with the Iowa charges.
Schondelmeyer was charged in Iowa last month with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of lascivious acts with a child.
Mills County authorities have accused Schondelmeyer of various sex acts with two children.
His lawyer, William McGinn, said both cases involve the same two children.
McGinn said Schondelmeyer denies all the allegations.
“The charges seem to be entirely based on the allegations of these two (children),” McGinn said.
