COUNCIL BLUFFS — A shooting outside a pool hall sent a man to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said Saturday.
Roland C. Chapin Jr., 40, of Red Oak, Iowa, suffered a gunshot wound to an elbow and was taken first to Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs and then transferred to Omaha’s Nebraska Medical Center.
Police said the incident, which occurred about 11:30 p.m. Friday, took place outside Danny Boy’s Billiards, 110 S. 29th St.
A man who hadn’t been arrested as of Saturday had a confrontation with Chapin and fired a small handgun into a crowd, police said. The man fled in a car.
Police said that the shooter was white, in his 20s, had a cross tattoo under an eye and was dressed in black with a hat and hoodie.
