LINCOLN — Make-A-Wish Nebraska has partnered with a Florida-based health services company to raise funds to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The company will donate 50 cents to Make-A-Wish Nebraska each time a prescription is discounted using company's free discount card.
The program began last month and will continue until Oct. 25, 2014. Make-A-Wish Nebraska is the third chapter nationally chosen to participate.
Brigette Young, president of Make-A-Wish Nebraska, said if the pilot programs are successful, the program could be expanded to all Make-A-Wish chapters.
Sam Mattingly, head of public relations for Watertree Health, said the cards provide discounts on brand name and generic drugs at participating chain and independent pharmacies.
Preactivated cards can be downloaded at watertreehealthcard.com/wishne or requested from a participating pharmacy.
