The third annual Christmas in the Village will be held Saturday afternoon along the 24th and Lake Streets corridor.
The Empowerment Network, Omaha Economic Development Corp. and dozens of community partners sponsor the celebration, which features an assortment of holiday-themed indoor activities — as well as free outdoor carriage rides and plenty of hot chocolate and apple cider.
The celebration runs from noon to 5 p.m., with the carriage rides and Santa's appearance starting at 12:30 p.m.
Some of the offerings include live holiday music, live animals and a nativity scene, crafts, games and activities for children, Mrs. Claus cookie shop, Santa's toy shop and book giveaway and a North Omaha holiday boutique featuring items made in North Omaha.
