Englewood, Colo., based CSG Systems International Inc. laid off 36 employees at its Omaha operations Thursday, a company spokeswoman confirmed. The cuts are part of a larger effort affecting 130 employees across the company's global operations.
“The layoff is not a result of anything major in our business. We're a global company and we staff up and down to meet our clients' needs,” said CSG spokeswoman KC Higgins. She said the cuts included positions ranging from senior-level positions through mid-level employees.
CSG Systems, which provides software services and technical support to companies primarily in the communications industry, has 1,500 employees in Omaha, most of whom work from its campus near 180th Street and West Dodge Road. In all, the company has about 3,600 employees in 24 countries.
