Eastern Nebraska and western Iowa could see freezing drizzle Friday afternoon and evening as the region catches the edge of a winter storm moving through northern Missouri.
Van DeWald, meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said there's about a 20 percent chance of freezing drizzle in the Lincoln-Omaha-Council Bluffs areas.
DeWald said the potential for freezing drizzle begins around 1 p.m. and lasts into the evening, which means there could be icy patches during the evening commute.
The good news is that temperatures will be high enough that salting by road crews would be effective.
Temperatures on Friday are forecast to top out around 30 degrees.
