A 30-year-old La Vista man faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of three federal charges accusing him of lying on an application for security clearance with the U.S. Air Force, as well as misuse of his Social Security number.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for Nebraska said Franklin Ansu was indicted Tuesday of one count of submitting a false document and another of making a false statement to a federal investigator.
Officials said Ansu applied in May for a civilian job at Offutt Air Force Base when he purposely omitted from his work history his employment from 2004 to 2006 with Ghana's Bureau of National Investigations.
The third count said Ansu gave his Social Security number to someone else to use in an effort to get a job.
