A 19-year-old man was arrested Friday after leading authorities on a pursuit that moved from north of Omaha into the southwest part of the city.
Dylan Scripter of Omaha was arrested near 168th and Ontario Streets on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest, driving under the influence of drugs and other allegations.
The pursuit began at 11:25 p.m. Thursday when a state trooper tried to pull over Scripter on westbound Interstate 680 near the 72nd Street exit, said Deb Collins, spokeswoman for the Nebraska State Patrol.
Scripter left I-680 at Highway 133 and headed north. He turned east on Highway 36 and then south on 72nd Street.
Collins said the State Patrol broke off the pursuit at Sorensen Parkway, where the Omaha Police Department's helicopter took over.
The helicopter followed Scripter to 90th Street and Maplewood Boulevard, where he got into another vehicle and headed southwest.
Scripter left that vehicle near 168th and Ontario, Collins said, and he was arrested.
