Snow will begin falling tonight in the Omaha area between between 10 p.m. and midnight.
The forecast is for up to 1 inch, said Rick Chermok, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Valley.
The overnight low Sunday in Omaha is expected to be about 14. Flurries are possible in the morning, Chermok said, but should be over by 8 a.m.
Omaha appears to have avoided the brunt of the winter storm moving through the Midwest and eastern United States.
Conditions were much worse south and east of the city, potentially causing problems for holiday travelers.
Chermok said the Falls City, Neb., area would receive up to 6 inches of snow. He said the forecast also called for 3 to 5 inches of snow on a line from Beatrice, Neb., to Red Oak, Iowa.
Freezing rain and sleet led to multiple traffic accidents Saturday in the Kansas City, Mo., area. Three to 5 inches of snow were forecast for Kansas City.
Snow also was expected in Des Moines and Chicago.
