MINATARE, Neb. (AP) — An 80-year-old Nebraska woman says she's so intricate about the holiday lights that surround her home each year around Christmas that she starts setting them up in November.
Jane Bauer, of Minatare in the Nebraska Panhandle, says she spends 30 hours decorating her house's exterior and another 48 hours decorating inside her home.
The Scottsbluff Star-Herald reports it's a tradition that dates back to 1975, when she started decorating with her late husband. It means countless, colorful strings of lights and stereo speakers that play classic holiday music.
The decorations, some of which are homemade, have become more elaborate over the years. Bauer's house is now a holiday attraction, and she says she has no plans to stop any time soon.
