Family Fun Center XL announced it has opened a new pizza buffet, including salad, pasta, drinks and dessert.
Center co-owner Tony Farrington told The World-Herald in June that he planned the buffet because a lack of food choices beyond concessions was limiting business during meal times. He said with the buffet, the entertainment center could answer the question, “What do we want to do for dinner tonight?”
Customers are not required to purchase the buffet as they are at some other entertainment centers.
Information about pricing and hours is available here.
Meanwhile, competitor The Amazing Pizza Machine this summer opened Luigi's Libations, a beer and wine bar, in addition to its pizza buffet. Previously the business used its liquor license only to serve at private parties.
Vice president Allen Wachter said the walk-up bar was added in response to demand from customers. While beer and wine are not intended to be the focus of the entertainment center's experience, he said, “It's the $3 beer that's going to get the $60 family.”
The bar sells just one drink at a time, to customers who have been carded and are wearing wristbands. Alcohol is allowed in three of the four dining rooms at the center, while one is designated as alcohol-free.
