Anthony Garcia found himself before a judge again on Tuesday — this time on charges that he assaulted two Douglas County corrections officers.
Bail was set at $50,000.
However, that is moot because Garcia is already being held without bail on four counts of first-degree murder.
Garcia, 40, is charged with killing Roger and Mary Brumback on May 14 and 11-year-old Thomas Hunter and his family's house cleaner, Shirlee Sherman, in 2008.
When asked if he understood the most recent charges against him, Garcia responded:
After a judge outlined the accusations, Garcia changed his response:
“I understand that.”
Last month, Garcia filed a federal lawsuit against Nebraska, police officers who testified against him and a county court judge.
In the lawsuit, he said the judge was negligent, and he accused police officers of committing perjury.
