Molly Schuyler, the Bellevue-based competitive eater, recently took down a 72-ounce steak and sides in record time and a 12-pound sub sandwich during a trip to the Northwest.
Schuyler, whom we've written about a lot, broke the world record for fastest eating of a 72 oz. steak (and sides) at Sayler's Old Country Kitchen in Portland, Ore. She ate it in two minutes, 44 seconds. The previous record was a bit under seven minutes
On the same trip, she also ate a 12-pound sandwich, a pound of fries and a large soda in 54 minutes; she's the only woman ever to conquer the challenge at the Mad Greek Deli in Portland, which has to be finished in less than one hour. She won $650 for beating that challenge and is only the third person to finish it.
Last year Schuyler signed a contract with All Pro Eating, the world's only independent competitive eating organization. She's tackled dozens of food challenges (here's a list as of last fall).
Here's the video of Molly chowing through the steak ...
An earlier version of this story incorrectly referred to Sayler's Old County Kitchen rather than Country Kitchen.
