Police identified the stranded motorist who was struck and killed Wednesday by a semitrailer on the West Dodge Expressway as Christopher Demman of La Vista.
Demman, 43, parked his 2003 Chevy Tahoe on the westbound shoulder of the expressway near 116th Street and activated his hazard lights, police said. He was standing in the lane of traffic when he was struck about 6 p.m. by a westbound 2011 Kenworth semitrailer.
Greg Hoeser, 50, of Loyal, Wis., was the driver of the semitrailer.
Traffic was diverted to the lower Dodge Street until the expressway was reopened about 10:30 p.m. Police said Thursday that they continue to investigate the incident, including why Demman was in the lane of traffic.
