The Peyton Manning lovefest has reached the Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium.
The zoo on Sunday announced that it named one of the five rockhopper penguin chicks hatched on Dec. 27 after the Denver Broncos' quarterback.
“When Nebraska Tourism reached out to us about this idea, we thought it would be a really cool way to say thanks to Mr. Manning for using the word Omaha in his pre-snap chants,” Zoo Director Dennis Pate said in a press release.
Pate said Nebraskans love football.
“It's fun to hear such a great quarterback chanting out our largest city's name hundreds of times per game. We get a kick out of it,” he said, “and are happy for Peyton and his team.”
