Omaha police said Brycel Jackson, 23, died early Sunday in a hit-and-run collision near Fontenelle Boulevard and Larimore Avenue.
According to investigators, Justice Wiggins, 18, was fleeing from another crash, driving west on Larimore in a white 1999 Mercury Sable, when she ran a stop sign about 12:45 a.m. and hit Jackson’s 2001 Jeep Cherokee, which was southbound on Fontenelle. The crash caused the Jeep to roll onto its roof. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wiggins and one of her four passengers fled on foot, authorities said. The other three were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Wiggins turned herself in Sunday and was charged with a felony: leaving the scene of an accident causing serious injury or death.
Investigators said Wiggins was fleeing a property damage accident near 42nd Street and Ames Avenue in which a 2009 Dodge Charger was hit.
