Papillion will hold an open house next week about construction ramping up soon on a major roadway.
The open house will discuss the widening of Washington Street — also known as 84th Street — from Cedardale Road to Capehart Road. The meeting will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 13 at the first floor meeting room in Midlands Hospital, located at 11111 S. 84th St. in Papillion.
Representatives from the City of Papillion, Nebraska Department of Roads and Sarpy County will attend to answer questions and take comments.
The project will widen nearly two miles of Washington Street. Construction is set to begin in March, with the first phase lasting approximately a year.
During construction, roadways around the project area generally will be closed to traffic, though local access will be provided for businesses and residents who have direct access to the roadways under construction.
Design plans, specifications, the project schedule and other information can be viewed in advance of the meeting at papillion.org/public_works_projects_wsr.cfm.
