A 23-year-old Iowan shared his weight-loss transformation on "The Doctors,” a daytime talk show, on Tuesday.
Rich Branscum turned to food after his father died when he was in high school. He soon weighed 455 pounds.
“I remember feeling hopeless, that I couldn't lose weight,” he said in a press release. “But my best friend and Complete Nutrition were there for me.”
His best friend encouraged Branscum to work out and stop drinking soda. The changes helped him lose 40 pounds.
Then he visited Complete Nutrition in Des Moines where he and employee Dan Zimmerman discussed his health and fitness goals. Complete Nutrition is an Omaha-based supplement store with locations in 36 states across the U.S.
The two developed a nutrition and exercise plan, which helped the 23-year-old lose more than 200 pounds. Today he's training for a bodybuilding contest and can bench 460 pounds.
