The Metro Omaha Women's Business Center on March 1 will award two $1,000 grants to emerging entrepreneurs and new women-owned businesses in the greater Omaha area.
The grants will be announced at the center's third annual MOWBC Start-up Grant Ball, a formal dress masquerade ball including silent and oral auctions, at the Omaha Marriott Regency, 10220 Regency Circle.
Grant recipients are selected by the business center from a pool of recommended applicants solicited from the Nebraska Business Development Center, SCORE, The Women's Fund and College of St. Mary. Eligibility requirements include proof of business and marketing plan and operations of one year or less.
The grants are intended to help defray start-up business expenses.
The ball will feature Deborah Keating, VP, First National Bank, as keynote speaker.
