You think your Instagram pics rock? Prove it by submitting a photo to #Instagrammys2014, a local Instagram-centered photo contest will be held during Benson First Friday.
Tag your Instagram photos with a participating tag to enter. Categories include #BFFselfie2014, #BFFcats2014, #BFFdogs2014, #BFFthrowbackthursday2014, #BFFkidsnotmykids2014 and many others. Visit the Instagrammys’ Facebook page to see a complete list of categories.
If your Instagram photos are private, follow @bensonfirstfriday on Instagram so that your photos can be viewed.
Submissions will be accepted through Saturday. The awards ceremony will be held March 7 at 8 p.m. at The Sydney, 5918 Maple St.
Musicians and artists team up one last time
The Masters and Music series concludes Sunday with “Treasures in Our Midst.” This is the final event in that series that combines visual art and music, put on by the Friends of Art of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Bart Vargas will speak about his artwork, which features salvaged materials, and guitarist Brad Hoshaw will perform.
The event at the UNO Art Gallery in the Weber Fine Arts Building begins at 5 p.m. and is $20. For more information or reservations, contact Shari Hofschire at 402-554-2402.
