    Huskers rally to stun No. 8 Arizona

    Nebraska overcame a six-run deficit and scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, upsetting No. 8 Arizona 11-10 at the Kajikawa Classic Friday evening. Junior Courtney Breault delivered a two-out walkoff single with the bases loaded in the seventh, driving a 1-2 pitch into right field and scoring sophomore Taylor Edwards.

    Huskers take four titles

    The Huskers took four individual titles at two meets Friday, with the Nebraska runners competing at the Iowa State Classic in Ames and the pole vaulters, throwers and jumpers in action at the Tyson Invitational at the University of Arkansas.

    Huskers split at Big Ten match play

    The Nebraska men's golf team went 1-1 Friday at the Big Ten match play, defeating No. 5-seeded Michigan State before falling to No. 4 Purdue. The 12th-seeded Huskers went 3-3-0 in their morning wave match against the Spartans.NU would ultimately advance to the next round against Purdue because they won more total holes in the match.

    Husker offense stalls in opener

    Nebraska’s softball team fell behind early in its season opener and couldn’t create enough scoring chances to get back in the game, losing 4-0 to No. 12 Washington on Thursday. Husky sophomore Kaitlin Inglesby was the story of the afternoon. She struck out five and walked two, hurling the fourth shutout of her career. The second-team Pac-12 performer in 2011 also hit a two-run homer to give her team a first-inning lead.

    NU getting its young relay team up to speed

But shortly before one of the most popular races at the Frank Sevigne Invitational, he found out he'd be running the anchor leg. And there's always, he said, a "love-hate relationship" with that spot. Exhilarating. But pressure-packed.

    NU's Miller earns honor at invite

    Nebraska senior Ashley Miller was named the most valuable female performer as Huskers athletes won nine events Saturday at the Frank Sevigne Invitational. Miller set a personal best in the mile with a time of 4 minutes, 39.11 seconds. Her performance ranks fourth on NU's all-time chart an is the 12th-fastest in the NCAA this season.

    UNO's Laidley wins at Wichita State meet

    UNO's Kathie-Lee Laidley set the meet record on her way to winning the high jump at the Varsity Apartments Invitational on Saturday at Wichita State. Laidley had a leap of 5 feet, 8 inches, as season best for the sophomore who also owns the school record (5-10). Sami Spenner took second in the triple jump on a tiebreaker after a jump of 39-6. Amanda Vorthman was second in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:00.93, just 1.6 seconds behind winner Emily Koenig of Texas-Arlington.

    Husker men fall against Sooners

    The Nebraska men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Oklahoma on Saturday. Benedikt Lindheim was the lone winner for the Huskers, topping OU's Tsvetan Mihov 6-2, 7-6(4) in No. 3 singles. Nebraska opens its home schedule Friday against Denver.

    Husker women sweep doubleheader

    The Nebraska women's tennis team picked up a pair of wins Saturday, downing Wyoming 6-1 and Eastern Michigan 7-0. The Huskers went 6-0 in doubles and 11-1 in singles play. The No. 29 Huskers host Air Force and Northern Iowa next Saturday.

    Papuchis likes potential of 2012 class

He and the coaches are thrilled about their newest additions — 17 scholarship athletes signed letters of intent with Nebraska Wednesday. He said getting the prospects to Lincoln is only the first step, though.
