Boys Town National Research Hospital Appoints New Chief Medical Officer and VP of Medical Affairs Boys Town is pleased to announce Deepak Madhavan, M.D., MBA, as Chief Medical Officer and VP of Medical Affairs at Boys Town Hospital. Dr. Madhavan joined Boys Town Hospital as the Executive Medical Director of Pediatric Neuroscience in May 2019. Over the past two years, he has worked to create the largest, most comprehensive pediatric neuroscience program in the area. "Dr. Madhavan's dedication to Boys Town's mission is inspiring," said Jason Bruce, M.D., Executive Vice President of Healthcare and Director of Boys Town Hospital and Clinics. "His vision, strategy and expertise will help guide Boys Town Hospital to the next level in the region, bringing life-changing care and hope to more children and families." Prior to joining Boys Town Hospital, Dr. Madhavan was the Director of the Nebraska Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is board certified in neurology and epilepsy. He received his medical degree from UNMC and completed his neurology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He completed fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and in epilepsy, both at New York University.

Heart Ministry Center Damany L. Rahn Amy Holmes Don Nelson Tim McTaggart Damany L. Rahn has been promoted to the chief resource officer at Heart Ministry Center. He has been employed at the organization for more than six years in various roles including director of case management, director of strategic partnerships, and associate executive director. Damany has served in leadership positions for more than 15 years, working with families and developing programming. He holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Langston University and a master's degree in family life and education from Concordia University. Amy Holmes has been named the chief operations officer at Heart Ministry Center. She directs the services provided by the organization including Fresh Start, A Way Forward, Food Distribution, Monen Health Clinic and the Fresh Start Laundromat programs. She started in April 2021 and comes to Heart Ministry Center with over 20 years of experience working in public service and nonprofits. Amy holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a Juris Doctorate from Creighton University School of Law. Don Nelson has been named the chief financial officer at Heart Ministry Center. He has been working in accounting and finance for more than 30 years and has experience in the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. He has been at Heart Ministry Center for one year and oversees the financial activities of the organization. Don has a bachelor's degree in accounting and management from Midlands University. Tim McTaggart has been promoted to the chief sustainability officer at Heart Ministry Center. He oversees grants, data management, and facilities. He has been with the organization for nearly two years serving as case management coordinator/director of grants and later associate executive director. Prior to that, Tim worked as a part time grant writer for Heart Ministry Center while also performing various roles at Sacred Heart Church. Tim has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska Names New CEO Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska, the largest girl-serving organization in the state, is pleased to announce Sarah Waldman as the council's new chief executive officer. Waldman most recently served as executive director of TeamMates Mentoring Program, the nonprofit school-based program founded by Tom and Nancy Osborne. Previously, she spent 17 years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, serving as staff attorney, vice president of human resources, vice president of ethical practices and senior vice president of administration. Waldman earned a law degree from Creighton University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She serves on the board of directors for Whispering Roots, is a trustee for the Business Ethics Alliance and previously served on the boards of TeamMates, ICAN: Institute for Career Advancement Needs, Business Ethics Alliance, UNO Alumni Association and Community Alliance. Current CEO, Fran Marshall, will leave her role in mid-November after leading the organization for 14 years. Marshall was the inaugural Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska CEO.
