Salon coming next year

Construction will soon begin on a new building in downtown Elkhorn that will house a hair and beauty salon.

The 4,800-square-foot building at 2614 N. Main St. will be home to Prim Beauty Parlour once finished, owner Jami Gragert said. The salon will house at least 10 stylists. She’s also looking to lease suite space upstairs to an esthetician, massage therapist and other medi-spa professionals. Gragert will offer eyebrow waxing and shaping services.

Construction is expected to begin in October, with an opening slated for spring or summer next year.

Gragert said she wanted to open in downtown Elkhorn because of the population growth in west Omaha, plus the ambiance of the old downtown area.

“I really didn’t want to be in a strip mall, that’s just totally not me at all,” she said.
