The public is invited to an open house Thursday, July 26 regarding the 13th Street Walkability Study. The meeting is from 5:00-6:30 pm at the Rail & Commerce Building, 950 South 10 Street.

A brief presentation beginning at 5:15 will provide attendees with an overview of the study process and draft concepts. The consultant team and City staff will be on hand to share information and answer questions about the study and potential projects.

On-street parking for the public open house is available, as well as in a designated lot at 8th & Pacific.

The purpose of the study is to determine how to best utilize the existing right-of-way width to accommodate all users including autos, freight, transit, bicycles, and pedestrians now and in the future. The project will result in a Walkability Plan that will include concept plans and an implementation program. With its focus on multimodal transportation and land use context, this corridor study will help realize the goals of Omaha's Complete Streets Policy, adopted in 2015. Learn more about Complete Streets by visiting the Complete Streets Omaha Website.

Where possible, an accessible meeting facility for disabled persons will be provided. Appropriate provisions for the hearing and visually impaired persons will be made if the City of Omaha is notified by July 19, 2018. Notification should be submitted to: Public Works Department, Omaha/Douglas Civic Center, 1819 Farnam Street, Suite 600, Omaha, NE 68183, telephone (402) 444-5220.
