COLUMBIA, Mo. — Nebraska put up four goals during a 17-minute span early in the second half to pull away for a 5-0 win at Missouri on Sunday.

Eleanor Dale scored in each half for the 2-0 Huskers — her second goal made it 2-0 in the 51st minute. Then Theresa Pujado scored six minutes later.

After the Huskers got an own goal from the Tigers, Reagan Raabe added a goal in the 68th minute. The sophomore from Millard West also had two goals in Thursday’s season-opening win.

Samantha Hauk made three saves for the Huskers, who outshot Missouri 12-8.

Nebraska will play at Baylor on Thursday.

Jays shut out Drake

The Creighton women’s soccer team improved to 2-0 with a 2-0 home victory over Drake on Sunday afternoon.

Cristina Garriga scored in the 22nd minute to put the Bluejays in front, then Abigail Santana added an insurance goal early in the second half. Santana, a freshman, also scored during Thursday’s overtime win against Montana.

Creighton was in control most of the way as it had 11 shots on goal compared to three for Drake. Keelan Terrell made three saves as she recorded the shutout.

Creighton will be on the road this week as it plays at Tulsa on Thursday.

Weichel’s goal downs MavsMANHATTAN. Kan. — The UNO women allowed an early goal as the Mavericks dropped a 1-0 decision at Kansas State on Sunday.

Marisa Weichel, a Papio South graduate, scored in the seventh minute, which stood up as the winner as the Wildcats outshot the Mavericks 25-7.

UNO was issued a red card late in the first half and played the second half a player down, but most of Kansas State’s attempts came before halftime.

The Mavs, who won their opener 1-0, next play at Wyoming on Thursday.
