Sarpy County Sheriff Jeff Davis will address a gathering today, Thursday, of the Sarpy County Pachyderm Club.

The club, which is a gathering of Sarpy County Republicans, meets at the Papillion Hy-Vee at noon.

The gatherings are held in the meeting room adjacent to the Hy-Vee cafeteria. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 11:45 am. in order to buy lunch. There is no charge to attend the meeting, though a donation of $1 is requested to cover the cost of the speaker’s meal.

Davis began his career with the sheriff’s office at the age of 18 as a dispatcher for the Sarpy County Emergency 911 Operations Center.

After becoming a sheriff’s deputy, he worked in various divisions of the sheriff’s office including road patrol, investigations, jail and administration.

He was sworn in as Sarpy County sheriff in 2005.

Davis is a graduate of the FBI Academy at Quantico, Va.

The Pachyderm Club meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
