Anderson, Fern E.

Nov 27, 1925-Jul 6, 2014

Our loving Mother, Fern Evelyn Anderson, left to go to Heaven in the early morning of July 6, 2014. She left from Papillion, NE to watch the sunrise with our Dad, Verl Alder Anderson, who has been waiting 20 years and 2 months for her in Heaven. Fern was born in Oakland, NE on November 27, 1925 and graduated from Oakland High School in 1942. She married our Dad in 1945 in Oakland, NE after he returned from the Navy where he had been serving aboard a submarine in the South Pacific during WWII. They lived in many places over the years but settled permanently in Omaha, NE in 1971. Mom had a full-time job raising 3 daughters and a son while Dad was working on heavy equipment in rural NE and IA for many of the early years. Later on she also worked for Younker Martin's and Younker-Davidson's in Sioux City and Younker Kilpatrick's in Omaha. Mom worked for Younkers for over 20 years. During those years she won numerous sales awards. But what she was really GREAT at was being a Mother! Mom, you have given us wonderful memories built on a foundation of love that will last us our entire lifetime. You taught us right from wrong and will remain that little voice in our heads that keeps reminding us that we know better when the temptation to falter gets strong. Now it's going to be even harder to listen to temptation because before we might have had a chance to get away with it. Now we know you'll see EVERYTHING!

Fern was preceded in death by an infant sister Viola (1924); father Eric Carlson (1953); Husband Verl Anderson (1994); mother Hannah Carlson (1994); and son-in-law Wayne England (2014). She leaves behind 3 daughters, Wanda England, Elkhorn, NE; Shari Addis (Tom), Dickinson, ND; Karen Anderson (Jim Ramirez), Elkhorn, NE; and a son, Keith Anderson (Sheri Balkus), Papillion, NE. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and their spouses and 16 greatgrandchildren. She also leaves behind many wonderful relatives and friends. She loved, and was loved by many. FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at First Lutheran Church at 201 N. Davis Ave. in Oakland, NE on Monday, July 14 at 11am. Interment will be at a later date at Oakland Cemetery. Please send Memorials to Feline Friendz in Nebraska, (Mom loved her cats!) or Trinity Courtyard at 620 W. Lincoln St. Papillion, NE 68046 (she loved humans too).
