Council Bluffs. Served his country in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Ron worked at UNMC for 20+ years, retiring in February of 1999. Preceded by parents, Paul and Chonita (Vasquez) Barron, Sr; wife, Rosemary Barron in 1995; brother, Paul Barron, Jr; sisters, Amparo Barron, and Ramona Chauvin. Survived by his daughter, Anna (Maggie) Sobczyk-Barron of Council Bluffs; son, Josef Barron of Iowa City, IA; sisters, Carmen Olson of Port Isabelle, TX, Gloria Mongoven of Rochester, MN, Carolyn (Jim) Scott of Las Vegas, NV, Mary (Ralph) Haag, Leorita (Paul) Becker all of Omaha, Eufemia Barron, Theresa (Don) Barron McKeagney all of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.

Recitation of the Rosary, Wednesday, 6:30 pm followed by VISITATION with the family until 8 pm at Cutler-O'Neill Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL, Thursday, 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery with military honors tendered by South Omaha American Legion Post #331. The family will direct memorials.
