Tickets available for Salute to Families

Heartland Family Service will honor eight families and a family advocate from Nebraska and southwest Iowa during two events n November as part of its 32nd ar nual Salute to Families program.

The Iowa event v'ill be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 13 ai the Mid-America Center in Council ISIuffs. Tickets are $25 for adults anc $10 for children.

The Nebraska e\ent will be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Happy Hollow Club, 1701S. 105th St. Tickets are $45 for adults anc $15 for children.

The North Omaha Community Care Council will host its second Community Impac: Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Creighton University Harper Center Ballroom, 602 N. 20th St.

Tickets cost $30 per person and include lunch, key lote address and take-home information from many NOCCC associate organizations. Event targets Omaha poverty

First United Methodist Church, 7020 Cass St., will host "Bringing Forth the Kingdom: Addressing Poverty in Our Community" from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Nov. 8.

Faith communities across Omaha are invited to bring a team to learn and strategize ways to impact and better lives. There will be numerous speakers from the community. VNA cancels Council Bluffs speaker series event

The Visiting Nurse Association Senior Speaker Series has canceled Thursday's event on pa Native care in Council Bluffs. The Omaha event is still set for Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the VNA Headquarters, 12565 West Center Road, Suite 100.
