Frances Josephine "Josie" Naylon Golden, 97, Vancouver, WA, passed peacefully on October 9, 2015. She was born on April 17, 1918 in Omaha, NE, where she lived most of her life as a member of Christ the King Church. Josie was a lesson in gratitude to everyone who met her. She was grateful for life itself and everyday happenings and miracles. Josie lived her life with a smile, giggle and a profound enthusiasm for Nebraska and Notre Dame Football. Josie found her passion and joy in raising her five children, Bob Golden (Linda), Omaha, Mary Jo Briggs (late husband, Bob), Vancouver, WA, Ann Golden Egle (Roger), Bend, OR, Jay Golden (Kelly Caswell), Vancouver, WA, and Sharon Golden (Michael Smith), Bend, OR; grandchildren: Michelle Golden Garcia (Jorge), Spain, Brian Golden (Jocelyn), Lincoln, NE, Michael Golden (Christy Cole Golden), Phoenix, AZ, Chris Briggs (fiance, Julia Speicher), Kelly Briggs (Sarah) all of Vancouver, WA, Megan Golden, San Francisco, CA, Carly Golden, Tacoma, WA, Cody Golden, Seattle, WA, Bailee and Trey Rogers, Kaleb Smith (Starr), all of Vancouver, WA, Blake Smith (Sarah), San Francisco, CA, Aimee Regan (Brad), Lincoln, CA; and great grandchildren, Jackson, Lucas and Hailee Briggs, Ava and Blake Smith, Jaden and Chase Regan. She is also survived by many friends and caregivers at Glenwood Place Retirement Home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John W. Golden; and twin sister, Mary Virginia Vincent. Josie will be Laid to Rest at Saint Mary Magdalene Cemetery in Omaha, NE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to: the Ray Hickey Hospice, Vancouver, WA.
