It's about to actually feel like summer in the Omaha area.
Highs are expected to be in the 90s from today until at least Tuesday. The heat index, a combination of temperature and humidity, could reach 100 to 105 degrees on Monday, said Becky Kern, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service office in Valley.
Temperatures are forecast to drop into the upper 80s on Wednesday and Thursday, when thunderstorms could move into the area.
Omaha's high temperatures and precipitation for July have been below normal, Kern said.
