Nonprofit groups hoping to benefit from the outpouring of generosity that occurs during the annual Omaha Gives campaign have about one more week to register.

The deadline to sign up is Feb. 19.

Last year, 704 nonprofit groups participated in the 24-hour online fundraiser organized by the Omaha Community Foundation.

The event prompted 20,684 people to make donations totaling $8.9 million.

Eligible nonprofits must be a registered 501(c)(3), have their primary operating address in Douglas, Sarpy or Pottawattamie Counties, and provide services within those counties.

Organizations that participated last year must confirm their participation again this year. Groups can register at omahagives24.org. There is no fee to participate.

This year's event is scheduled for May 25.
