Omaha, NE. Died February 12, 2016. Vince was born July 23, 1930 in Long Beach, CA. He graduated from U.S. Air Force pilot training in 1953 and achieved the rank of Captain, earned his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Findley Engineering College in Kansas City, MO, and his MBA from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. Vince began his profession in engineering at firms that included Westinghouse, TWA and Burroughs. He was multi-talented and later in his career, he parlayed his engineering expertise into computers. He led the Systems and Data Processing Department at Northern Natural Gas in Omaha, later moving with Enron to Houston. He retired from Enron in 1995.
Vince was an exercise fanatic and avid runner, competing in marathons until the age of 65. His family will remember him as quick-witted and always willing to help others, even though it sometimes meant his own projects went unfinished. Besides investing time in his children and grandchildren, Vince's greatest passions were computers and airplanes. He loved to build his own computers as well as build, rebuild and fly airplanes. Vince was known for the twinkle in his eye and his incredible sense of humor, which will be greatly missed. He was a long time member and Past President of the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 80, the Order of Quiet Birdmen and a recipient of the FAA's 50 year Master Pilot award.
