Playing in the past: The Elkhorn Valley Museum will host "Hands-On History: The Way We Played" in Norfolk, Nebraska, today. Play the games people played in the past, including Jacob's ladder, marbles, stereoscope and more. The drop-in event runs from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at 515 Queen City Blvd.

Children's art: Attend the Joslyn Art Museum's Kickst ART Saturday event and see work by author and illustrator William Joyce. The 10 a.m. to noon event will feature arts and crafts, a sing-along and a screening of Joyce's short movie, "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore."

Science: The University of Nebraska State Museum in Lincoln hosts a second Saturday science lab from 10 a.m. to noon today. This month's event is "Celebrate Darwin." Go to museum.unl.edu/investigate for more information.

Love and stuff: The Omaha Children's Museum, 500 S. 20th St., celebrates Valentine's Day on Sunday with crafts, experiments and more. The event will run during regular museum hours, 1 to 5 p.m.
